What Is the Atlantic Immigration Program?

The Atlantic Immigration Program is an employer-driven pathway to permanent residence for eligible skilled foreign workers and international graduates who want to live and work in one of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces. To participate, applicants generally need a qualifying job offer from a designated employer, meet applicable eligibility requirements, obtain a settlement plan and receive provincial endorsement.

Qualifying job offer

A full-time job offer from a designated employer in an Atlantic province.

Work experience

Generally 1,560 hours within the last five years, unless exempt.

Language test

Approved English or French test. CLB/NCLC 5 for TEER 0–3, or 4 for TEER 4.

Education & ECA

Required educational credential, with an ECA for foreign credentials where applicable.

Settlement plan

A settlement plan completed with an approved service provider.

Settlement funds

Proof of settlement funds, unless exempt.

Provincial endorsement

The employer requests endorsement from the province on your behalf.

No CRS ranking

AIP does not use an Express Entry CRS ranking system. Eligibility and endorsement are based on the program’s own requirements, not a points competition.

Provincial priorities

Provincial priorities and intake rules may restrict applications beyond federal eligibility. Each Atlantic province manages its own designation and endorsement.

Choose Your Province. Explore Your Opportunities.

Each Atlantic province runs its own AIP designation and endorsement process. Select a province to explore details, updates, and designated employers.

Note
AIP designation does not confirm that an employer is currently hiring, offering immigration sponsorship, or accepting applications. We never label an employer “Hiring Now” unless a current vacancy has been independently verified.

How AIP Works

Six stages from exploring eligibility to settling in Atlantic Canada.

1

Explore eligibility

Review work experience, language, education and other requirements.

Find a designated employer

Research employers and apply for suitable advertised vacancies.

3

Receive a qualifying job offer

The designated employer offers a position meeting program requirements.

4

Settlement plan & endorsement

Complete settlement planning and have the employer request provincial endorsement.

5

Apply to IRCC with the required documents and endorsement.

6

Prepare for Atlantic Canada

Complete the remaining immigration process and plan your settlement.
